Return to ash

We're not built to be broken, yet we break.
We're not here to hurt others, yet we do.
We were never told to suffer, yet we must.
We were told to forgive, yet we cannot let go.

Our existence is one of contradictions and illusions.

But if you let go of the future,
you won't be hurt anymore.
Return to ash.

Imaginary substance or creature, from Norwegian myth and folklore.

Numb

Stuck. Stuck. Stuck .Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Stuck. Mute. Numb.

No regresar.

Anymore

What is it that I still have? I don't want to lose anything anymore. I've walked this path for so long, not caring about the cost of each step I took to get me further into it. Not caring about if the path chosen was full of thorns or flowers, it never mattered as long as it led to the goal I had set for myself. I've lost so much, I've let go of everyone and everything; again and again. I've endured so much. I don't want to lose anyone anymore. I don't want to endure pain anymore.

Yet at the end of the road I keep on losing, for the sake of ambition and glory, I've let my focus lose itself from what is truly important to me. I don't want to let go anymore. I don't want to be alone. I, for the first time in my life, want to stop and enjoy the moment. I don't want to run anymore. Stop gazing into the future and pay delightful attention at whatever lays around me. Just for an instant, I want to stop competing, stop fighting, against everyone; against myself. I don't want to fight anymore.

If the path I've chosen so far was full of right, then for once I want to be wrong. Take pleasure in every moment, with the people I care. Enjoy the simple things, don't mind the big stories from the world. If only for a moment, I want to be human again. I want to care about others, and want others to care about me. I don't want to be a wolf anymore. I can't remember exactly for how long I've been lost, wondering the world alone. I don't even remember how it started. I don't know what the meaning of the word 'home' is anymore.

Family has become just an idea and friends have been watered down enough to simply become people that are not strangers anymore. I can't remember how a bond feels. Even if all I have left are these vague memories, I don't want to lose them. Even if all I've got is this broken sense of warmth, I don't want to lose it. Even if all I have is the a small feint of hope of ever being able to become whole again, I can't afford to lose it. From all I had once, I've lost plenty, and all I have is just this little, not enough to shed a tear. Yet it is all I've got, and it's become something precious to me. I don't want to lose anymore.

What do I really have left? What can I really do to get it back? What am I willing to do to not lose anymore? I don't want to be a stranger anymore. For the first time in my life, I want to belong. For the first time in my life I want to care about if the path I decide to walk will lead to home; I don't want to live astray anymore. I keep learning new and forgetting old faces, I can't remember most of them. I keep gathering new experiences, with no one to share them with; no one else that remembers them. I've become a ghost of my own memories. I don't want to forget anyone anymore. I don't want to be forgotten anymore.

I had to lose it all; had to let go of everything, to realize what was really important to me. Had to give it all up to find out what where the things I could not let go. Yet I did let go. I don't want to lose anything, anything at all, anymore. No more, no more of this, please stop this, I can't take it, anymore.

What will it take for you to realize that sometimes letting go is just running away, and staying to fight is to do what's right. What will it take for you to be happy with what you've got and to stop looking away? When will you stop postponing happiness until the day when the never ending road ends? Why can't you see that you had it all, and let it go, and whatever is left, is for you to recover or waste, and I don't want to waste, anymore.

Break

Break the shell. Break yourself. Be brave.
Break the mold. Break the scars. Survive.
Break the past. Break the fear. Prevail.
Break the path. Break the will. Become supreme.

Curious

There is a big difference between being curious about something or really knowing what you want. But how can you truly know what you want if you never allow yourself to be curious?

Charco

Ningún hombre ha sido nunca por completo él mismo;
y sigue siendo rana, ardilla u hormiga.
Todos tenemos orígenes comunes: las madres;

Al parecer he perdido mucha sangre.

Reanimado, me levanto.

Trains

The truth is, there is something special about trains. It may be the feeling of collective solitude that they convey; a person is never as lonely as when riding an overwhelmingly crowded train. Or it may be the never-ending scenery flying by through the windows; shall we never forget that our lives are all but just an instant that passes us by in a flash. It’s a constant déjà-vu where people enter and leave. Sometimes you might exchange a word or two with someone but in the end, the longer you ride the train, the more you realize that on this trip you’re on your own.

The other thing about trains is that they always offer a way back. They provide hope, that regardless of your final destination you will have a way out; because of this, trains may be greater than life itself. But this is merely an illusion. Wishing to fast forward towards the future while keeping an open door to come back from where you came from; it’s just running away from the present. You’re escaping from yourself.

And trains, as wise as they are, have a way to deal with this; a way to bring you back into the present. If you look carefully through their windows but stop yourself from gazing too far into the future, and ignore any other passing train going back to the past, you might be able to find yourself. The hidden reflection of your soul looking at you from within the glass, reminding you that in this very second you are and you exist. That even if you’re on this trip on your own, you’re (not) alone.

Espejo

Blips

I have no fear. I have no faith. I have myself.

Money, what a stupid thing.

It's not their looks that get me, it's their smell.

Sometimes I wonder why my hands suddenly began to shake. Some other times I drink myself to sleep.

Doing brings with it a sense of happiness that those who do nothing could never understand.

My hands admit this carnage, for it is I that have done all of which cannot be undone.

Admittedly, she is a risk. Then again, she makes me smile. And what else can we hope in this life other than that.

Keep running, so that you might find relief. Yet you will never be able to escape from yourself.

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

-Rudyard Kipling

Poseer

Solo existes tu.

Bank

Sometimes I would like to encourage you to think of me as bank, so that you know that every time you invest one coin in me you would receive two in return. But that's only because I love you.

What do you want?

One step. Another step. A lot people walking fast in all directions. I didn't really cared about them. I could barely recognize their faces or understand what they were saying. They were more like shades brushing along the streets, ethereal. Among the crowds however, there she was. It had been such a long time since I'd seen her, but my memories of her were still as sharp as ever; I could recall every little detail.

Those deep blue eyes, with subtle hints of silver every now and then. The long, dark, curly hair slowly walking down her neck and into her chest, teasing you in. Her lips, those tender, welcoming lips. It took me a minute to figure her out and by the time I regained control over myself she was already there, in front of me. We've played this game several times before, and to perfectly honest, I've never actually won. Yet, there she was, teasing me.

We both kept quiet for a second, she was staring right into my eyes, and I could feel how my blood started to rush. Her lips slowly began to move and said "What do you want?" I knew it was coming and I tried my best to give her an answer, but regardless of what I said she just kept asking the same question again and again, "What do you want?". It didn't really mattered if I walked fast or slow, if I turned right or left or if I closed or opened my eyes, she was always there, right in front of me, repeating the question with that sweet voice and warm smile of hers.

By the way she stared at me I think she knew I didn't really had an answer, but she kept asking anyways, pushing me, driving me, testing me. I started running, to no avail; you cannot escape from this game. Cornered and subdued, I stood up once more, looked right into her eyes and answered "I do not know"; it was my last stand. She asked once more "What do you really want?", "To be happy" I said. Of course I wasn't be able to get away with something cheap like that.

With a sassy smile she asked yet again "What do you truly want?". Then I realized that I had lost the game once again, and that I had nowhere else to run, so I kept quiet and said nothing. Then in the blink of an eye, she was gone. I keep wondering if someday I'll be able to win the game.
